Instructional Media Services at E2CCB

Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES (E2CCB) offers a comprehensive Instructional Media Services program that provides educators across its component school districts with a wealth of educational materials to enhance classroom instruction. The service is designed to deliver both physical and digital media resources that support diverse educational needs and foster student engagement. Below is a detailed breakdown of the key components of the service.

Delivery of Materials

Once educators select the instructional media materials they wish to use in their classrooms, E2CCB ensures efficient delivery directly to their schools. The E2CCB delivery service stops at least twice per week at each component school, with most schools having delivery service every school day. Each school has a designated delivery area with clearly marked “IN” and “OUT” BOCES boxes to facilitate seamless receipt and return of media materials. This convenient delivery system helps educators stay focused on instruction while accessing the resources they need.

Canceling Media Orders

If the dates for media delivery are not convenient or the materials are no longer needed, educators can easily cancel their orders. Cancelations can be made using the INSIGNIA Booking System or by contacting the Media Center directly via phone at (716) 672-4371, ext. 2023, or 1-800-344-9611, ext. 2023. This flexible process allows educators to make adjustments to their requests in real-time, ensuring that media orders align with their instructional plans.

Returning Media

Timely return of media materials is essential to avoid disrupting other educators’ lessons. If a teacher requires more time with a particular resource, they can request an extension at the time of the original booking or by contacting the Media Center at (716) 672-4371, ext. 2023 or 1-800-344-9611, ext. 2023, or email ctwichell@e2ccb.org for an extension. We will work with you to provide the materials you need for the times you need the materials. E2CCB is committed to providing the necessary support and flexibility, ensuring educators have the tools they need while also maintaining the flow of materials for other users.

Preview of Materials

E2CCB encourages educators to preview unfamiliar materials to ensure they meet their instructional goals. While annotations in the catalog serve as a guide, previewing allows teachers to fully understand the content and ensure it aligns with the needs of their classroom. This proactive approach helps educators make informed decisions and select resources that will have the greatest impact on student learning.

Through its Instructional Media Services, E2CCB is committed to enhancing the educational experience by providing high-quality media resources that are easily accessible and tailored to meet the needs of its component school districts. From convenient delivery to flexible booking options, the service supports educators in their mission to create engaging, dynamic learning environments.

Cooperative Equipment Program

The Cooperative Equipment Program offered by Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES provides school districts with a collaborative approach to acquiring instructional equipment. Through this service, a committee comprised of BOCES Technical Services staff and district personnel works together to identify, evaluate, and recommend equipment for use in classrooms. The focus is on selecting equipment that meets district needs for cost-effectiveness, ease of use, reliability, and efficient servicing or repairs. This program ensures districts have access to updated and replacement items without the availability of BOCES aid.
