Students at WNY P-TECH in Dunkirk recently completed a schoolwide project that has added some artistic flair to the halls.
Modeled after the work of artist Mark Jenkins, students in art teacher Shelli Romero’s class have made “Human Packing Tape Installation Sculptures.” Each figure is made of crinkled paper wrapped in tape and plastic wrap.

Aaron Macakanja, a WNY P-TECH student in the Mechanical Technology-Machine Tool pathway, recently helped a faculty member by fabricating a new adjustable table for a drill press.
The project was made of steel and involved measuring for a CAD design as well as welding and machining to complete.
Aaron, from the Dunkirk City School District, also recently passed his Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate test (CSWA) and has achieved national certification in SOLIDWORKS 3-D design.

Two students from #E2CCB placed at the Paul Swatland Memorial Welding Competition held recently at SUNY Niagara! 🎖️✨🎖️
The annual “Weld-Off” event is open to high school students and includes separate competitions for juniors and seniors. It is organized by the American Welding Society – Niagara Frontier Section.
Fabian Burgos, a junior in the Welding/Metal Fabrication program at the LoGuidice Educational Center, took first place at the event. Placing third from the Ormsby Educational Center was Leo Deputat.
