Welcome to the New Visions Career & Technical Education program, a dynamic partnership between Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES and PCB Piezotronics, Inc. This innovative initiative offers high school students a unique opportunity to explore advanced manufacturing and engineering careers while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a real-world setting.
The half-day program allows senior students to spend the morning working alongside machinists, technicians, and engineers in various aspects/phases of production. The program aims for students to develop a complete foundation of the precision manufacturing process, from design to fabrication. Together with regional partners, including PCB Piezotronics, Inc., SUNY Erie, and Niagara County Community College, New Visions will help prepare the workforce of the future — today.
Through the New Visions program, students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and industry-leading mentors at PCB Piezotronics, a global leader in sensor technology. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, participants delve into the intricacies of advanced manufacturing processes, engineering principles, and cutting-edge technologies, preparing them for success in today’s rapidly evolving workforce.
The program combines rigorous academic coursework with immersive, hands-on learning experiences, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of modern manufacturing and engineering principles and practices. From design and prototyping to quality control and production management, participants gain practical skills and industry certifications highly sought by employers.

Students interested in enrolling in this program must demonstrate the following:
- Strong English and communication skills
- Two years of completed regents science
- Academically prepared and highly motivated
- Maturity, self-starter with the ability to work with a team
- Good attendance
- Reliable transportation (Walden Avenue near Transit Road, Depew)
- US citizenship
