Practical Nursing

Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus-BOCES School of Practical Nursing offers a 12-month program (1,145 Clock Hours). This program provides the knowledge and clinical skills necessary for a career in the nursing profession. Successful completion of the program will prepare the student to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

Nursing Theory and skills are taught in the classroom and reinforced with lab practice and clinical opportunities in a variety of healthcare settings.

Admission Requirements
  • A high school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE), or official college transcript
  • Pass the pre-admission TEAS online ($120). The applicant is tested on basic reading, writing, science, and math skills. Reading, writing, and math are averaged together. The applicant average must be a minimum of 55% to receive an application packet.
  • Provide two professional references (work-related or educational)
  • Complete BOCES (provided physical form) indication that the applicant is “fit to work” and immunization records, required per our clinical partners.
  • Send a $100 non-refundable deposit to:

Application Procedure
  • Create an ATI student account (TEAS Exam)
  • TEAS at ATI Exam Quickstart Guide
  • Once you have successfully passed the pre-admission exam, arrange for any high school or college transcripts to be forwarded. If you have an equivalency diploma, send a copy of your official transcript scores.
  • You will need to submit two professional or educational references along with transcripts.
  • The Admissions Committee will then review your application and notify you by mail of your status.
  • Following notification of your acceptance, you must confirm your plans for enrolling by returning your signed agreement and deposit by the deadline date.

Phlebotomy

Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) / Home Health Aide (HHA) Program

The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) / Home Health Aide (HHA) program is a comprehensive training course designed to prepare individuals for rewarding careers in healthcare. This combined program equips students with the essential skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and in-home care environments.

Program Overview

Students in this program will receive comprehensive instruction and practical training in fundamental nursing skills, patient care techniques, and home healthcare best practices. The curriculum covers:

To ensure accessibility, classes rotate regionally at our Fredonia, Ashville, and Jamestown locations.
