Happy Hearts: EA Students Visit Culinary Arts Program

E2CCB students from Julie Rzepecki’s and Kevin Paolini’s classrooms at East Aurora visited the Carrier Educational Center where they worked in the Culinary Arts program decorating Valentine’s Day cookies and cupcakes.

“It’s nice to have the Career & Technical Education students and teachers collaborate with our students,” Rzepecki said. “It gives them an experience that we typically don’t have in our classroom. It also gives them some real-world life learning.”

Students also had the opportunity to make homemade pizzas for lunch. They were assisted at Carrier by Culinary Arts instructor Sandy Kaleta, consultant teacher Nicole Kaleta, and senior Shaun Serio.

“Our students here at Carrier really like to work one-on-one with kids and see their creativity,” Nicole Kaleta said. “They get to collaborate together as students and not just us teachers.”
