Juniors enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at the Hewes Educational Center recently received hands-on training on how to create a cast of a boot print in snow and sand. 👮♂️🚨👮♀️
Members of the Chautauqua County Forensic Investigation Team, along with Deputy Tim Riley of the Chautauqua County Sheriff`s Office and Michael Currie of the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, demonstrated how to work with different mediums while casting a print.

Members of the National Technical Honor Society chapter at the Carrier Educational Center recently donated toys to Oishei Children`s Hospital in Buffalo! 🎁🏥🧒
The special delivery resulted from a toy drive organized by NTHS members and held in November and December at Carrier.
Earlier this month, the Career & Technical Education students met with hospital officials and delivered the toys, which will be given to children receiving care at Oishei.
"We are extremely proud of how caring and willing our young leaders are and how excited everyone was to be part of this experience," said Nicole Kaleta, a consultant teacher at Carrier and NTHS advisor.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff`s Office recently provided Taser Certification Training to Chautauqua County Explorers at the Hewes Educational Center. 🚨👮♂️👮♀️🚨
Students were taught basic information on the benefits of non-lethal options. Taser training also allows Explorers to learn alongside local law enforcement and receive additional preparation for the academy.
On December 16th, students from the E2CCB at Chautauqua Lake program had the amazing opportunity to receive free haircuts, thanks to the talented stylists from Main street salon and co!
This generous initiative not only gave our students a chance to look and feel their best but also demonstrated the power of community partnerships. We’re incredibly grateful to Main St Salon for sharing their time, skills, and kindness with our students.

Sixth graders from Dunkirk City School District recently visited WNY P-TECH to learn about the different pathways and to participate in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activity! 🏫👋👦
During their visit, students completed an egg drop experiment with the assistance of Principal Jeffrey Teluk and also toured the Dunkirk building; 10 current WNY P-TECH students helped with the event.
"Our P-TECH students did an awesome job explaining the different pathways and helping students with the STEAM activity," said Nicole Donato, WNY P-TECH school counselor. "It was a nice introduction to P-TECH for the Dunkirk sixth graders and a good opportunity for some of our P-TECH students to demonstrate their leadership and teamwork skills."

The Ormsby Educational Center recently made the holidays brighter for those in need. 🎁🎄☃️
Before Winter Recess, student ambassadors for the different Career & Technical Education programs coordinated the collection of several items as part of a Giving Tree. Donations included gloves, hats, scarves, socks, hygiene items, and toys.
After the collection drive ended, the items were handed over to The Rural Outreach Center in East Aurora.
Middle and high school students from Lake Shore recently visited the Carrier Educational Center to explore different Career & Technical Education programs!
The guests were pampered with a manicure 💅 or a wash and dry in Cosmetology, decorated cookies 🍪 in Culinary Arts, and met the class tortoise 🐢 in Small Animal Science.
Jennifer Linsley, Maureen Reichert, and Kelly Hernandez from Lake Shore helped with the collaboration.
