Pathways in Technology Early College High School, or P-TECH, is a new model of education developed by IBM. This program is a multi-year commitment for students and their school districts, as students remain enrolled in their home districts for the four years of high school, plus up to two additional years to complete the associate’s degree.
This New Public School Model offers a hands-on and project-based, productive education. P-TECH is a student-centered school where the courses are relevant and authentic; where curiosity is sparked, and where students get out of their chairs, outside of their classrooms, and experience learning in new and exciting ways.
The P-TECH classroom is a collaborative and lively environment, using state-of-the-art equipment and 1:1 integrated technology to support hands-on, STEM principles to bring out the best in what a school can offer. Once students grasp core concepts within lessons, they are encouraged to identify challenges that they want to solve using their newly developed skills to research, design, and test. This is learning done your way!
This applied, project-based way of teaching and learning allows students to grasp concepts quickly, develop confidence and appreciate the value of learning as it relates to their own lives and the world around them. You will never ask again “Why am I learning this information? Or “When will I ever need to know this?”

Free Tuition
Students completing the program will earn a New York State Regents Diploma from their home district. At the same time, they gain valuable work experience and training through the completion of an associate degree with one of our higher education partners (SUNY Jamestown Community College or Alfred State).
P-TECH Students earn both a Regents High School Diploma and an associate degree in a lucrative STEM field, at NO-COST, upon completion.
