SAVE Legislation Course
The Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) Act, established in 2000 under Governor George Pataki, sets a firm foundation for ensuring safety and security within schools. The course covers the following key areas:
- A concise introduction to the societal factors contributing to violence
- The need to rethink and shift our perspectives on prevention
- An overview of laws and policies that promote a safe and nonviolent school climate
- Identification of risk factors and warning signs tied to violent behaviors
- Exploration of preventative educational strategies
- Guidance on participating in effective school and community referral processes for at-risk students

Course Format
This is a 2-hour workshop. Participants have the option of taking the course fully online OR in-person at the dates and times listed below.
Participants choosing the virtual training format will be emailed detailed directions along with the access link to the training 3 days prior to the start date. The course is self-paced and must be completed within 1 week.
Upon confirmation of payment and course completion, a certificate will be emailed to the participant and E2CCB will input into the TEACH system.
Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) Course
The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) aims to combat harassment, bullying, and discrimination in schools. This six-hour course is designed to meet the certification requirements for New York State professionals. Topics include:
- Development of policies and guidelines for schools to prevent harassment and discrimination
- Strategies to help employees effectively prevent and respond to incidents

Child Abuse Identification and Reporting Course
Since January 1991, New York State has required professionals in education and healthcare to complete training in identifying and reporting child abuse. The course is open to others interested in understanding these critical issues. Participants will learn:
- Definitions of abuse, maltreatment, and neglect under New York law
- Behavioral and environmental indicators of abusive caregivers
- Physical and behavioral signs of abuse, maltreatment, and neglect
- When and how to properly report suspected abuse
